During this five-day cultural exploration, students engage in cultural activities, help with community-based projects, talk with community leaders, and reflect on the experience of being immersed in life with local tribal communities. Through the daily interactions, participants learn about traditional and contemporary Coast Salish history and lifeways. The urban Native culture in Seattle is also explored by visiting local sites such as Daybreak Star Cultural Center and Chief Seattle Club.
The cost for this immersion is generally between $130 - $150. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
