During this six-day immersion trip over spring break, participants explore issues related to immigration and the rights of immigrant farm workers. The immersion takes place in the Yakima Valley where the group will meet community leaders (e.g. United Farm Workers Union organizers and immigration lawyers) and visit non-profit organizations that support the farmworkers and their families. Students may also visit orchards and packing plants, and connect with local college students who grew up in the area.
The cost for this immersion is generally between $180 - $225. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
