Recognition

    • In 2012, the White House honored Seattle University with one of only five Presidential Awards for community service, the highest recognition by the federal government to a college or university for its civic engagement, service-learning and volunteerism.  In 2013, Seattle University was again recognized by the White House, this time with "distinction" which is given to only 100 institutions. 
    • In 2013, for the second year in a row, Seattle University appeared with only 24 other institutions on U.S. News and World Reports list of top schools for service-learning. 
    • When it comes to student success, Seattle University ranks among the top schools for service-learning or community volunteer work, according to Washington Monthly: Best Colleges of 2013
    • The Carnegie Foundation selected Seattle University for the Community Engagement Classification; only 311 institutions nation-wide have received this competitive classification. 
    • The Princeton Review recently ranked Seattle University #14 in the nation for its "town-gown relations."
    • In 2010, Seattle University received Carnegie Community Engagement Classification.
