This Academic Residential Community is open to students who enroll in the Faith and the Great Ideas program. It connects your 1st year Core classes to your home in the residence halls. As a member of this special cohort of freshmen, you will study great thinkers, writers, and artists from ancient, medieval, and modern times, as well as probe the relationship between faith and reason with experienced professors who are excellent teachers and scholars. In the past, Faith and the Great Ideas events have included special evening lectures in the Academic Residential Community, as well as excursions with Faith and the Great Ideas professors to the Seattle Symphony, the Seattle Art Museum, the Seattle Opera, theater productions, new film releases, pumpkin-picking, dining at various restaurants, cheering at Mariners games, intramural sports, and boating on Lake Washington. Often, these excursions end with informal conversations gathered around the fireplace.
