Phil Thompson, professor and chair of civil and environmental engineering, was interviewed on KUOW's "The Conversation" Wednesday, Aug. 15. Thompson spoke about the Gates Foundation's efforts to reinvent toilets used in developing countries in order to help reduce diseases. He has been consulting with the foundation on this and other waste management projects.
