Unable to attend this year’s undergraduate commencement, Matsuda formally received her diploma and celebrated her SU graduation among family and friends on Aug. 17. She is pictured here with School of Law Professor Lori Bannai. Bannai and Dale Watanabe of the International Student Center, who appears in the background, were instrumental in the conferral of SU degrees to Japanese students like Matsuda who were incarcerated during World War II.
