Maria Cantwell visited Seattle University on July 6 to speak
about global development. Her visit coincided with the official
release of the paper, "Global Development through Aid, Partnerships, Trade
and Education: Recommendations from Global Washington," which
includes significant contributions from SU faculty. In welcoming
Cantwell, President Stephen Sundborg, S.J., said the event was in line with
"the great initiative of our university in regard to global
engagement." Sundborg also acknowledged Victoria Jones as the university's
new associate provost for global engagement. Be sure to read about this
initiative in The
Seattle Times.
