Union Green maintenance, Aug. 27-Sept. 10

Union Green will undergo organic field maintenance from Aug. 27 to Sept. 10. The work will include aerating, top dressing and fertilizing. Aeration is the process of mechanically removing cores of turf to improve the flow of air, water and nutrients in dense, compacted soil. The Department of Grounds will be aerating to allow the grass to grow healthier, greener and thicker. The maintenance has been scheduled to reduce the noise pollution required in this process. The main area of impact will be on the Union Green, with possible minor noise impact to adjacent buildings. If you have further questions, please contact Shannon Britton of Grounds at 296-6439.
