Mass of the Holy Spirit to take place Oct. 3

The Mass of the Holy Spirit-the annual prayer of the university community for God's spirit to bless our endeavors in the upcoming academic year-will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Immaculate Conception Church (18th and E. Marion). All students, faculty and staff are welcome.

Beginning 10 a.m., shuttles will depart from the university seal (11th & E. Marion St.) to the church. Classes are cancelled between 10:05 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and university offices are closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Faculty are welcome and encouraged to robe and participate in the academic procession that is part of the Mass. Robing will take place in the basement of the Immaculate Conception Church. Please return rented caps and gowns to the bookstore as soon as possible after the Mass and social.

After Mass attendees will form a processional and proceed down E. Marion and continue directly to the plaza in front of Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons. Faculty are encouraged to remain robed for the processional. Ice cream will be served at the library plaza and Tim Leary, executive vice president, will provide brief welcoming comments, as will Eric Chalmers, SGSU president.
