Introduction to service-learning workshops

The Center for Service and Community Engagement is presenting three one-hour seminars to provide those new to service-learning an understanding of basic principles of good practice. Each seminar is presented twice; program participants may attend either the Wednesday or Thursday sessions, all of which take place 4-5 p.m.

• Introduction and Syllabus Design - April 17 and 18

• Reflection: Integration of service and learning - April 24 and 25

• Working with Community Partners and the CSCE - May 1 and 2

The series carries a $200 stipend for faculty who are developing a Core course and who attend all three sessions and a consultation. Faculty who are not developing a course for the Core are welcome but not eligible for the stipend. All seminars and consultations will be conducted by Jeffrey Anderson, senior faculty fellow, Center for Service and Community Engagement, Elizabeth O'Brien, service-learning coordinator, and guests from the Academic Service Learning Consultants Program.
