SU men's basketball squares off against UW

By Jason Behenna, Athletics

The Seattle University men's basketball team heads into one of its most-anticipated games of the year Thursday, Dec. 13, when the Redhawks host the Washington Huskies at KeyArena at Seattle Center starting at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ROOT Sports as well as on the radio at 770 AM KTTH The Truth. This is the fifth straight year that the Redhawks and the Huskies have faced each other on the basketball court after the series was dormant for 29 years.

Last season, Seattle U came close to earning its first victory over Washington since Nov. 28, 1978, as the Redhawks tied the game at 76-76 with 4:53 remaining in regulation before the Huskies pulled away for a 91-83 victory. Sterling Carter hit four three-pointers as he earned 15 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in the game. This year's contest should be just as exciting as both teams prepare for conference play.

Faculty and staff members are encouraged to pick up their two free tickets at the O'Brien Center for Athletic Administration Wednesday, Dec. 5, and Thursday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the special faculty/staff window on the East side of KeyArena on Dec. 13 starting at 5:30 p.m. Also, mark your calendars for games against Jackson State (Monday, Dec. 17), Northern Illinois (Wednesday, Dec. 19), Campbell (Saturday, Dec. 22), and Idaho (Saturday, Dec. 29), all starting at 7 p.m. at KeyArena.
