Award-winning writer Sandra Cisneros to speak at SU Oct. 19

Award-winning writer Sandra Cisneros will speak at SU as part of the 2012 annual meeting of the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association. Cisneros' books have been translated into more than 20 languages. She is the president and founder of the Macondo Foundation, an association of socially engaged writers working to advance creativity, foster generosity and honor their communities. She is also president of the Alfredo Cisneros Del Moral Foundation, a grant-making institution serving Texas writers. Cisneros is currently writer-in-residence at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. The lecture is free but TICKETS ARE REQUIRED.
