House of Representatives chaplain to visit SU Oct. 16-18

Pat Conroy, S.J., the current chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives, will be at Seattle University Oct. 16-18 and give three presentations while on campus.

A member of the Oregon Province of the Jesuits, Fr. Conroy is the first Jesuit and only the second Catholic priest to serve in the chaplain's role. He has a close association with Seattle University, having served as campus minister here for 3 years in the 1990s. He has also served as campus minister at Georgetown University and as a teacher at Jesuit High School in Portland. In addition to his theological training, Conroy has a law degree from Gonzaga University and has practiced law on behalf of the native peoples in Washington State. (You can read his full biography at  http://chaplain.house.gov/chaplaincy/index.html.)
