This temporary dwelling was recently placed near the Chapel of St. Ignatius to mark Sukkot, a festival that is significant in Judaism. Sukkot (also known as the Feast of Ingathering, Booths or Tabernacles) celebrates the harvest and remembers the living conditions of the Israelites in Exodus. Sukkot is a time to eat and spend time in a sukkah, a fragile, temporary dwelling like those the ancient Israelites built during their 40 years of wandering in the desert after their Exodus from Egypt.
