Where our graduates work

LaurieStrusserTESOLGraduates of the TESOL program work overseas in K-college settings and private language institutes or work in the United States in community colleges, non-profit agencies, Intensive English Programs affiliated with universities, and in private language schools and business. Students with K-12 teaching credentials may work in public and private school systems. Graduates may also elect to continue their studies by pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related fields (see Program Advisor for information on Ph.D. programs in the United States and Canada).

Graduates teach all levels of ESOL, from pre-literate to TOEFL-preparation. Graduates teach a variety of classes: reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and pronunciation, as well as integrated ESOL curricula. Graduates may also seek employment in ESOL program administration, teacher education, international student advising, materials development, tutoring, or foreign language.
