Graduates of the MIT with Special Education Endorsement will become leaders of the field and well prepared to meet the needs of students with disabilities in the 21st century.
More students with disabilities than ever before are now in general education classes, graduating from high school, and taking meaningful employment as adults. However, students with disabilities face challenges beyond that of their peers without disabilities in today's educational system and society. To be successful, students with disabilities require teachers with a high quality of specialized training who are committed to helping those most in need. Students with disabilities also require strong advocates to ensure that their rights to quality and appropriate education are met.
