College of Education ) Degree Programs ) Special Education ) Endorsement Only

Endorsement Only

The Endorsement Only program in Special Education is designed for certified teachers with a masters degree. Students must complete at-least 15 credits of coursework at Seattle University in order to complete the total 24 credits of required special education coursework. The amount of coursework is dependent upon previous coursework and experience.

For specific special education endorsement requirements, click here. Those students with extensive prior coursework in special education, who would like to know how many credits they are lacking towards a special education endorsement, may have their transcripts reviewed by the special education program director for a nominal fee. This may be done prior or after admission to the endorsement only program. To have transcripts reviewed, students should contact Pat Witkowski at: (206) 296-5774.

As part of the endorsement review, students will be required to complete the special education endorsement form. For students without extensive prior coursework in special education do not need to fulfill this requirement.

Once students are admitted into the program, a plan of study will be set with the student's advisor in order to complete the required coursework for the special education endorsement.
