Endorsement FAQ
Can you tell me how many credits I will need to take in order to complete my endorsement?
Applicants must complete a total of 24 credits of special education coursework required by the State of Washington. Students with prior extensive coursework in special education may have their transcripts reviewed for a nominal fee by the special education program director. This review will determine what additional coursework is required to complete the special education endorsement. An endorsement in special education is only given to students who are completing one of the special education degree or endorsement programs. In addition, students who wish to earn the Washington State primary endorsement in special education must already hold a Washington State teaching certificate.
