Program Themes and Learning Outcomes

Program Themes

The Student Development Administration Program includes four major themes woven into the student development course work. Each theme is addressed as a component within the student development courses and each raises key issues in preparing future professional administrators. These four themes are:

  • Understanding Student Clientele
  • Understanding and Fostering Diversity
  • Ethics and Values
  • Environment and Culture

 

Learning Outcomes

The Student Development Administration program has eight learning outcomes.  They are:

  1. Demonstrating Mastery of Program Knowledge Base
  2. Understanding of Students and Student Issues
  3. Responding to Ethical Dilemmas Utilizing Appropriate Judgment
  4. Understanding and Fostering Diversity
  5. Communicating Effectively
  6. Working Successfully in Teams
  7. Demonstrating Commitment to the Profession and Professional Development
  8. Adapting Student Services to Specific Environments and Cultures

 

Mission of the College of Education

The mission of the College of Education is to prepare ethical and reflective professionals for excellent service in diverse communities. These professionals will contribute positively to the values, principles, and practices of their communities, workplaces and professional associations.
