Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships offer degree-related experience and financial support for graduate students enrolled in the SDA master's program. These experiences are often an important factor when competing for positions after graduation. In order to be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to Graduate School, enroll for a minimum of six credits per quarter during the time of their assistantship and make satisfactory progress toward their master's degree during their assistantship.

Compensation for Graduate Assistants for 2007-2008 is $13,400 for an average of twenty hours per week. Graduate Assistants are typically employed from approximately September 1, 2008 to June 10, 2009. Admission into the graduate program does not guarantee a graduate assistantship.

The deadline for Graduate Assistant applications for 2008-09 is February 14, 2008. Applicants will be invited to SDA Preview Days to be held March 2-4, 2008.

Graduate assistant interviews will be held during Preview Days. Further details regarding the schedule will be made available to candidates once we have received the Graduate Assistant application. All applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the campus in order to interview during Preview Days.
