Nancy Gerou, Ed.D.,
coordinates Graduate Assistantship selection
for the Student Development Administration program.
Dr. Gerou is Assistant Vice President for Student
Development at Seattle University. She is former
Director of Athletics at Seattle University
and Director of Womens Athletics at Oregon
State University. She is the author of two books
on recreation.

Tana Hasart , Ed.D., teaches SDAD 559 The American Community College. Dr. Hasart is the current President of Pierce College Puyallup, and previously served as the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Director of Student Affairs at the University of Washington, Bothell, and as the President of Clark College in Vancouver, Wash. Dr. Hasart chairs the Washington Association of Community and Technical College Human Resources Committee and is an evaluator with the Northwest Association of Colleges and Universities.

Bridget Turner Kelly,
Ph.D., teaches SDAD 577: Foundations of
the Student Affairs Profession, SDAD 578:
Student Development Theory, Research and
Practice, SDAD 579: Student Development
Administration Capstone Seminar, and EDUC
530: Philosophy of Education. Dr. Kelly
is an assistant professor and full-time faculty
member at Seattle University; her research focuses
on marginalized populations in the academy.
As a result of her exemplary scholarship, the
American College Personnel Association at its
2005 Annual Convention named her as an ACPA
Emerging Scholar. She is a member
of the Editorial Board of the Journal of
College Student Development.
Top Robert Kelly, Ph.D.,
teaches SDAD 580: Higher Education Law.
Dr. Kelly is Vice President for Student Development
at Seattle University; in this role, he oversees
several student services. Prior to coming to
Seattle University, he served as Associate Dean
of Students at The University of Vermont. He
is active in several professional associations
and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees
of Loyola College in Maryland.
Top Timothy P. Leary, Ph.D.,
teaches SDAD 580: Higher Education Law.
Dr. Leary is Senior Vice President at Seattle
University. He has been a Senior Student Affairs
Officer at two colleges. He currently serves
as a member of the James E. Scott National Academy
for Leadership and Executive Effectiveness and
is a member of the Editorial Board of the NASPA
Journal.
Top Michael Silver, Ph.D.,
teaches EDAD 571: Leadership in Education
II. He is an assistant professor at Seattle
University and Director of the Educational Administration
Masters program. Prior to joining Seattle
Universitys faculty, he was Superintendent
of Schools in the Tukwila School District for
17 years. His honors include Superintendent
of the Year Award by the Washington Library
Media Association (2000); recipient of an Excellence
in Educational Leadership Award by the University
Council for Educational Administration (1998),
and an A+ Award recipient by the Washington
Council for Economic Education (1992).

Jeremy Stringer,
Ph.D., is the Program Director and founder
of the SDA Masters Program. He teaches
SDAD 575: Best Practices in Student Services,
SDAD 576: Leadership and Governance in Postsecondary
Education, SDAD 577: Fuondations of the
Student Affairs Profession, EDUC 591: Comparative Educational and Social Policy and EDAD 570:
Leadership in Education I. Dr. Stringer
has been a vice president of student affairs,
an associate provost, both an academic and student
affairs department chair, and has led a university-wide
strategic planning process. He served as the
national chair of the Faculty Fellows of the
National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
He is co-editor of the Handbook of Student Affairs Administration to be published by Jossey-Bass in 2009.
Top Erin Swezey, M.A.,
M.P.S., teaches SDAD 564-6: Internship
in Student Development Administration I-III.
She has broad experience in student affairs,
including Assistant Director of Residence Life,
Director of Campus Ministry, and Director of
Community Service/Co-Director of the Center
for Values and Service at Loyola College in
Maryland. In 2001 she was chosen as the Outstanding
Administrator of the Year at Saint Josephs
College of Maine.
Top Catherine Walker, J.D.,
teaches SDAD 580: Higher Education Law.
She is Vice President of Recreational Equipment,
Inc. (REI). Previously she served as Vice President
for Administration and University Counsel at
Seattle University and Chief Legal Officer and
Senior Vice President for Westin Hotels &
Resorts. She has served as chair of the City
of Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission.
