Advisory Board Member Recognition
Congratulations to SDA Advisory Board member Mike Segawa, vice president and dean of students at the University of Puget Sound. He assumes the presidency of NASPA—Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education for 2009-2010.
Faculty Recognition
Jeremy Stringer, Program Director, was in the inaugural class of the Faculty Fellows of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and chaired the group for two years. He is also the recipient of the “Distinguished Service to the Profession award” from NASPA (Region V).
Student Recognition
Congratulations to recent graduate Jill Vogel, 2009 winner of the William N. Wasson Student Leadership & Academic Award. This award recognizes top undergraduate and graduate students who are participants of and/or employed by the Department of Recreational Sports and gives NIRSA an opportunity to honor outstanding student leaders who are active participants, employees, and/or volunteers at their institution.

ACPA National Case Study Competition (2005)
NASPA National Case Study Competition (2004 and 2009)
National Orientation Directors Association (2003).
Congratulations to first-year student, Adam Serafin. His team came in first place in the NASPA case study competition in 2009.
Congratulations to 2009 graduate, Ryan Hamachek. He is the recipient of the 2009 Hunthausen Award, given to an oustanding graduate student.

Seattle University is the only student affairs graduate preparation program to receive this award.
CAS Standards
The Seattle University program meets the standards for master’s-level graduate programs for student affairs professionals promulgated by the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
