Advisory Board Member Recognition
Congratulations to SDA Advisory Board member Mike Segawa, vice president and dean of students at the University of Puget Sound. He recently served as president of NASPA—Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
Faculty Recognition
Jeremy Stringer, Program Director, was in the inaugural class of the Faculty Fellows of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and chaired the group for two years. He is also the recipient of the “Distinguished Service to the Profession award” from NASPA (Region V).
Student Recognition
Congratulations to 2011 graduate Jessica McPherson. She was the 2011 recipient of the Archbishop Raymond Hunthausen award. She is the fifth SDA graduate in the past eight years to receive the award, given to only one graduate student each year.
Congratulations to SDA students Dustin Grabsch and Courtney Stringer. They placed second in NASPA's 2011 national case study competition for new professionals.
Congratulations to Claudia Medina Garcia on being selected to chair the Graduate Student Council. She is the third SDA student in a row to chair the council.
Congratulations to the following 2010 graduates on receiving university-wide awards. Ashley Gonzalez is the only graduate student in the university named a Distinguished Graduating Student. Allison Greenwood received the Mission Award for Outstanding Leadership in Care. And Katie Taylor received the Inspiration Award.

National Orientation Directors Association (2003).
Congratulations to recent graduate Jessica McPherson and Adam Serafin. Their team came in second place in the NASPA case study competition in 2010. Adam's team came in first place in the NASPA case study competition in 2009.

Seattle University is the only student affairs graduate preparation program to receive this award.
CAS Standards
The Seattle University program meets the standards for master’s-level graduate programs for student affairs professionals promulgated by the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.
