Graduate Projects

Students who are pursuing a Master of Arts in Student Development Administration must complete a graduate project. The graduate project is a work of original scholarship. Students work with a faculty member on this project, but it is largely independent. Before registering for the graduate project, students must take EDUC 500: Introduction to Research and have the permission of their advisor.

Beginning with 2011-12, students who are choosing a Master of Arts degree are asked to enroll in SDAD 591: Research and Assessment in Higher Education. This course may be substituted for EDAD 571 in the student's Program of Study or counted as an elective.

We ask that students declare the MA Degree plan by Spring Term of the year prior to completing a graduate project. Permission to complete the graduate project is obtained after the student submits a proposal detailing plans for the project.

Information for the 2012-13 academic year:

To complete MA Degree plan during the 2012-13 academic year, students need to declare the MA Degree plan by the end of the 5th week of classes during the spring quarter (April 27, 2012) to their adviser and the graduate research coordinator (yamamur1@seattleu.edu). Please see the MA 2012-13 powerpoint presentation for detailed information about enrollment and requirements.
