Graduate Assistantships
Graduate assistantships offer degree-related experience and financial support for graduate students enrolled in the SDA master's program. These experiences are often an important factor when competing for positions after graduation. In order to be eligible for an assistantship, students must be admitted to Graduate School, enroll for a minimum of six credits per quarter during the time of their assistantship and make satisfactory progress toward their master's degree during their assistantship.
Compensation for Graduate Assistants for 2012-13 is $15,605 for an average of twenty hours per week. It may increase slightly for 2013-14. Graduate Assistants are typically employed from approximately September 1 to approximately June 10. Admission into the graduate program does not guarantee a graduate assistantship. Students should apply to the SDA master’s program at the same time they apply for a graduate assistantship to guarantee they will receive full consideration.
The deadline for both the Graduate Assistant applications and the SDA program applications for 2014-15 is January 15, 2014. Admitted applicants will be invited to SDA Preview Days to be held at Seattle University.
The 2014 Preview Days for the 2014-15 academic year will be held on two different dates.
Group 1: February 27-28, 2014
Group 2: March 6-7, 2014
