Overview
The Professional Certification Program provides the course work and support required by the State of Washington for teachers to earn their advanced level of certification, the Professional Certificate. The program provides instruction using a cohort model with small classes. The program will begin in September 2010 with the first class, the Preasssessment Seminar (3 credits) in which candidates design a Professional Growth Plan and complete Entry 1 of the Portfolio. Entries 2 and 3 of the Portfolio are completed by June 2011 in subsequent classes with continued instruction and support from College of Education faculty and school district based educators.
Beginning in September 2010, two program options will be available: a Graduate Option and a Post-Master's Option.
