ProTeach Prep
P
roTeach Prep courses are designed to support candidates who are preparing for the state-mandated ProTeach Portfolio Assessment. Upon successfully passing the three entries of the assessment, candidates will be awarded the Professional Certificate, the second level teaching certificate in Washington.
Candidates work with trained university faculty and school district-based educators to understand the requirements of the portfolio, assess their understanding of the state standards and criteria, and demonstrate their performance in postively impacting their students in all areas.
Two program options are available for earning credits: Graduate Credits may be earned by current matriculated graduate students who are enrolled in several master's degree programs in the College of Education; and, Continuing Education Credits may be earned by candidates who already hold a master's degree or are not yet ready to pursue one. Both options are 6 credits and are completed within one school year, starting fall quarter and ending spring quarter.
