Preparing ethical and reflective professionals for quality service in diverse communities

The Professional Certification Program provides the necessary coursework for teachers earning the second level of teacher certification in Washington State. Students work closely with Professional Growth Teams to write their Professional Growth Plans, which they implement during the following school year. During the Culminating Seminar, students prepare a portfolio demonstrating their positive impact on student learning.
Three program options are available for the program: the Graduate option in which credits earned for Professional Certification may be applied to several different master's degree programs in the College of Education; the Post-Master's option for teachers who have already earned a master's degree and wish to join a learning community that operates at a faster pace; and the Advanced Track option for teachers who have 5 or more years teaching experience out of state prior to teaching in Washington.
