Mission
The mission of the Master in Teaching program states "the teacher is an ethical and knowledgeable reflective decision-maker who can teach all students to function effectively in a global and pluralistic society." Students in this full-time graduate degree program earn both a master in teaching degree and an initial teacher certification, all within four academic quarters of study. This cohort-based program provides an opportunity to create and experience a "learning community." MIT students are placed in a school setting within the first two weeks of the program. MIT students have multiple field experiences, all of which feature supervisory support and incorporate peer collaboration and team teaching.
