Teaching Certificates

Successful completion of the MIT program will enable the student to become a certified teacher in Washington state.

To earn a certificate to teach kindergarten through eighth grade, the elementary certification candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree with a strong liberal arts foundation, including courses in language arts, sciences and math, and social sciences.

To earn a certificate to teach fifth through twelfth grade, the secondary certification candidate must have completed an undergraduate or a graduate degree in an academic major in subjects taught in secondary schools.
