ELL
Students who wish to pursue an endorsement in ELL must also have a primary endorsement in a core subject area. This can be either elementary or any core secondary subject area (English, History, Social Studies, Math, or Science).
For students who decide to pursue an ELL endorsement, the MIT program currently offers three pathways:
- Applicants who have already completed a minimum of 24 quarter credits of ELL coursework may complete the ELL endorsement form and submit that with their MIT application.
- Applicants who have not yet completed the ELL coursework required may do so through Seattle University’s MIT ELL Endorsement Program. This program is designed specifically for current and prospective Seattle University MIT students who wish to complete ELL coursework. More information about this incredible option can be found here.
- Applicants can currently also choose to take ELL coursework through Seattle University's partnership with the School of Teaching English as a Second Language (S-TESL). More information about their program can be found by going to their website. It is very important to note that the partnership between Seattle University and S-TESL will be ending as of June 30, 2013. No coursework will be accepted after that date.
