Program Options

We have flexible program options to meet a range of professional goals.

Master of Education Literacy for Special Needs (48 credits)

The M.Ed. program in Literacy for Special Needs is designed for experienced, certificated teachers who take one or two courses a quarter during the academic year and one or two courses during the summer. Students take a planned sequence of coursework in literacy and special education. The program culminates in the practicum (LITC 528) working with K-12 students with special needs. Completion of the master's degree leads to the Washington State endorsement in reading and provides 16 credits toward the Washington State endorsement in special education.

Post-Master's Certificate for the Literacy Specialist (15 - 24 credits)

The Post-Master's Certificate for the Literacy Specialist is designed for teachers who already hold a master's degree, but who want to earn the endorsement in reading.

Graduate Endorsement-Only Program in Reading (24 credits)

The Graduate Endorsement-Only Program in Reading is designed for teachers who want to earn the endorsement in reading without the master's degree.
