College of Education to Offer New ELL Endorsement and Certificate Program
This spring, current teachers and MIT teacher candidates will have
the opportunity to enhance their degree with an ELL endorsement or
certificate. “The innovative program is designed to meet prospective
students where they are,” says Dr. SusanEllen Bacon, Associate Dean of
the College of Education and Program Director of Professional
Development and Continuing Education. “We are offering an opportunity
for professionals who are teachers, adult educators, English instructors
and special education practitioners who want 12 or 24 credit program
conveniently offered on weeknights and weekends.” These class

The Professional Development and Continuing Education Office facilitates the coursework needed for certificated teachers to add an endorsement based on the subject area competencies specified by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
