The Program Administrator Program develops exceptional leaders. Designed primarily for part-time students who are working adults, this program attracts aspiring administrators who are passionate about making a difference―who see themselves as leaders of other professionals in pursuit of excellence for students, staff, and school districts.
Cohort-based courses integrate law and resources leadership with a practicum in one year, followed by an internship with an ongoing seminar designed to bridge theory and practice. As part of our commitment to social justice, students work with diverse populations and conduct service learning projects in schools. The needs of working professionals are basic to the design and delivery of the program. Students may accelerate coursework or balance it over a longer period to fit individual schedules. Courses are offered in the late afternoons and evenings on weekdays during the academic year and in both the day and evenings during the summer. Our curriculum meets the Interstate School Leadership Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) standards, supporting the school district level reform efforts in which schools are engaged.
Educational Administration program graduates who are certified as Program Administrators will be eligible to participate in the Program for New Principals. This program supports new administrators through mentoring, coaching, and ongoing professional development.
