Part I. College of Education Core (9 credits required)

EDUC 501/520 Social Justice in Professional Practice 3 credits

Part II. Curriculum and Instruction Core (24 credits required)

 

CUIN 510 Foundations of Curriculum and Instruction 3 credits
CUIN 511 Assessing Student Learning 3 credits
CUIN 512 Models of Effective Instruction 3 credits
CUIN 513 Supervision and Leadership in Schools 3 credits
CUIN 519 Curriculum Design: Theory and Practice 3 credits
CUIN 520 Contemporary Issues in C&I 3 credits
EDUC 515 Multicultural Perspectives 3 credits
SPED 540 Introduction to Special Education and Learning Disorders 3 credits

 

Part III. Electives (12 credits required)

We encourage students to take elective courses that support and promote their professional goals. Students have considerable flexibility in the selection of electives, both from within the College of Education, and from other graduate programs at Seattle University, including public administration, business administration, and theological studies. Planning elective courses must be done in consultation with an academic advisor to ensure that all program requirements are met. Detailed information on course offerings within Curriculum and Instruction can be found in the Graduate Bulletin. Students wishing elective course work in reading and literacy are invited to take classes listed under Literacy for Special Needs (LITC) as outlined in the Graduate Bulletin.

Part IV. Degree Option Requirements (3 credits required)

Selection of degree option should be made in consultation with an academic advisor. Complete one of the following:

For students seeking the M.Ed. degree,

CUIN 594 Curriculum Field Project: MEd (3 credits)

For students seeking the MA degree,

CUIN 595 Curriculum Field Project: MAEd (3 credits)
