Candidacy Form

The Program Checklist, found in the current Student Handbook for Adult Education and Training, outlines program requirements and serves as the foundation for the Candidacy Form. When approved by the student and his/her adviser, the Candidacy Form is filed with the AEDT program office to monitor degree completion. A degree cannot be issued until all requirements listed on the Candidacy Form have been satisfied. The current Candidacy Form is available from your adviser, from the program office, or by clicking on the link below.

In the event that a Candidacy Form must be changed, a Petition for Exception to Policy must be filed. The Petition states the requested change and the rationale for doing so. The Petition requires the signature of the student, the student's adviser, the Program Chairperson, and the Dean/Designee of the College of Education. Petitions may be used to request acceptance of transfer credits and course substitutions.

Candidacy is not required for those in the Post-Master’s Certificate in Community College Teaching program, but a program checklist must be completed and filed with the AEDT program office to monitor certificate completion. The checklist may be found in the current Student Handbook for Adult Education and Training.
