Master's Degree Options and Specializations

Students may choose to complete a Master’s of Education or a Master’s of Art. Both require the same number of credits, the internship, and completion of the Comprehensive Examination. The Master’s of Art option requires completion of a graduate project while the Master’s of Education option allows students to complete an additional elective.

Regardless of the degree option, students choose a specialization in Adult Literacy, Adult Basic Education, or Human Resources: Training, Education, and Development.

Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language

Helping adults improve basic skills in reading, writing, math and / or English as a second language, especially for administrators and instructors working in community colleges or social service agencies.

Human Resources: Training, Education and Development

For administrators or instructors who create, manage, and / or deliver training programs in a wide variety of organizational settings.
