Dr. Hutton’s background includes teaching English and Contemporary Problems at Seattle Preparatory School. He co-founded the Senior Independent Study Program there which evolved into a six year bachelor's degree consisting of three years of study at Seattle Prep and three years at Seattle University's Matteo Ricci College. He was president of Gonzaga Preparatory School, Spokane, WA, from 1982 to 1988. In 1990, he was appointed an assistant dean and certification officer of the School of Education. Dr. Hutton has taught educational administration, educational leadership, school personnel, school law, school finance, doctoral quantitative and qualitative research, the doctoral proposal seminar, and other courses at Seattle University.  He has also been the chair of over a dozen doctoral dissertations.
