Join Seattle University's Dr. Rob Efird for this lecture and discussion:
China and the United States are the world's two largest
contributors to climate change, and the choices of their citizens will likely
prove decisive in determining the planet's environmental future. Both nations
have policies to promote environmental education as a means of cultivating
environmental stewardship, but how are these policies being implemented? How
does one promote sustainable behavior through education in the first place? In
this work-in-progress talk, I present some initial findings from my ongoing
fieldwork in China's southwestern province of Yunnan, as well as my experiments
with environmental education here in Seattle.
