The training modules below will give special educators and support staff a comprehensive knowledge base to develop IEPs that are in compliance with state and federal regulations and to develop transition plans that will help students achieve their goals. The modules offer practitioners an opportunity to examine current IEPs using the Indicator 13 Checklist created by the National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center (NSTTAC), review the six components required for transition services, view examples of each component and see suggestions for documentation in an IEP. It is strongly suggested that in addition to the training modules, school teams use the CCTS Transition Assessment Toolkit (located under Publications in Transition Services-Indicator 13) and the NSTTAC Age-appropriate Transition Assessment Guide and the Indicator 13 Training Materials at www.nsttac.org.

|Transition Training Materials
These materials are intended as a training resource for practitioners as they develop Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and can be used in conjunction with the Online Transition Training Modules. The materials are presented to illustrate the transition process as it is applied to the components required by IDEA 2004. These materials can be used for individual topic review or for group staff development activities. After using these materials teachers, administrators and staff will be able to identify the transition components required to be evident in each IEP and will be able to document the information in its appropriate place.
