Center for Change in Transition Services

The goal of the Center is to improve post-school outcomes for students with disabilities in Washington State through:

Transition Training & Technical Assistance

The Center conducts regional transition training where teachers, staff and administrators conduct a self-review of their IEPs and develop comprehensive IEPs using the six required transition components. The Center also provides technical assistance to school personnel, families and agencies with online transition trainings, teleconferences, or onsite trainings. Additionally, the Center provides professionals and families with resources and information that pertain to transition and post-school outcomes.

The Post-school Survey

The Center collects post-school outcome data from all school districts in the State of Washington. The survey interviews are with special education leavers or their families. This has been a state requirement since 2000 and became a federal requirement with the reauthorization of IDEA 2004.
