Faculty Services
Partnership
Career Services of Seattle University collaborates with SU faculty to support the career and professional development of undergraduate and graduate students and alumni in various ways. We rely on your support, assistance, and referral as students explore their vocational aspirations and career goals. Students ask questions about their unique career opportunities in many settings: in their residential learning communities, in their academic departments, within their student organizations, at their internships or part-time jobs and in countless other places where faculty and staff are able to engage students in conversations about their futures.
We'd like faculty to join in our efforts of assisting students in developing life-long career pursuit and management skills. Coordinating efforts in working with employers, obtaining alumni and employer speakers on specific topics, assisting in the graduate school application process, and developing programs for specific majors, among many other collaboration opportunities, we can partner to create a comprehensive career-development program across campus.

Schedule your class to visit Career Services. Our staff will provide students with an overview of our resources and programs and how best to use them in the career planning process.
Integrating Career Content Into the Curricula
When developing your syllabus, consider incorporating career-related information into one or more of your class sessions such as job statistics, career profiles or employment trends. Our staff can assist in identifying the most effective tools, delivery methods and resources to support your teaching objectives.
Internship Resource
Career Services maintains internship listings and can assist students in preparing for and obtaining a hands-on experience in their chosen field. We can connect faculty with employers with whom we have built relationships or we can facilitate connections with employers you believe would value our students. We also recognize that faculty have many connections with employers already and, by connecting employers to us, we can integrate them into our internship and job-recruitment programs
Career Action Plan Development
Encourage your students and advisees to develop a career action plan that complements their academic plan throughout their four years. We have a standard guide detailing the career action plan which can be tailored for a specific major or career path including informational interviews, study abroad, mentoring, internships, service learning, leadership development and networking. Career Services can work with you to create a customized version for your needs.
Networking Events Series
Career Services holds networking events throughout the year based on specific industry or identity groups. Faculty can take the opportunity to network with employers and learn about the services we have to offer.
Language Groups
In today's global world, a second language is a highly-prized commodity by employers. Our language groups give students, faculty and staff the opportunity to practice a second language to develop their self-efficacy in marketing such skills. Faculty are invited to join as a member, or as a facilitator. Please check our events calendar for the next Language Group meeting. We are always looking for more language facilitators; please contact us to learn more.
Alumni Mentor Network*
Alumni and students can connect using our online interface offering the opportunity for job shadowing and mentoring. Students and alumni can opt into the network by registering online. * We are currently collecting mentor info and this service will be open for students once we have a robust database of mentors
Access to Career Services Redhawk Network
Faculty can register into the Redhawk Network to: view company profiles, job postings, view and/or register for any Career Services event, and/or utilize any of the many features offered by this tool (e.g., mentor network, faculty feature, internship management tool).
Career Services Group and Career Services Advisory Board
If you currently serve as an internship coordinator or simply have a vested interest in the career services we offer, consider becoming a member of the Career Services Group or the Career Services Advisory Board where you can offer your expertise and experience to improve the career services at Seattle University.
