Don't Cancel Class!
If you should anticipate a need to cancel class, contact Career Services. Based on availability, a staff member could visit your class and deliver career-related lectures or workshops. You can choose a topic from the following list of workshops. Three week advanced notice is requested, although exceptions can be made available based on availability. Please submit a Workshop Request Form to schedule a workshop.
1. Writing Effective Resumes and Cover Letters
2. Finding Real Jobs & Internships: Social Media and Getting Connected
3. Empower Your Career Decisions with Self Awareness
4. Acing Interviews & Negotiations
5. Applying MBTI to Professional Success
6. Employer/Alumni guest speaker panels
Professional staff members are available based on availability to provide content-rich lectures to complement or enhance your course content. Topics will be tailored to your specific class.
Integrating Career Content Into the Curricula
When developing your syllabus, consider incorporating career-related information into one or more of your class sessions such as job statistics, career profiles or employment trends. Our staff can assist in identifying the most effective tools, delivery methods and resources to support your teaching objectives.
Professional Development Nights
Work with Career Services to design an evening for students in your department to hear about possible career choices, learn about networking and hear about the resources available on campus. A panel of alumni will also share their advice and field questions from the students.
Career Services maintains internship listings and can assist students in preparing for and obtaining a hands-on experience in their chosen field. We can connect faculty with employers with whom we have built relationships or we can facilitate connections with employers you believe would value our students. We also recognize that faculty have many connections with employers already and, by connecting employers to us, we can integrate them into our internship and job-recruitment programs
