Peer Career Advisors

The Peer Career Advisors (PCA's) are a group of students who have been trained to work with their peers in the career development process. Their speciality resides within resume & cover letter reviews, job search strategies, and networking. Cate Chase

Drop-in Hours: Fridays 1:00pm-2:00pm

Cate is currently a junior, Marketing major and will be graduating in Fall 2009. Cate has worked with Career Services since the beginning of her freshman year and now holds the position of Marketing Intern. As Marketing Intern, she works with the Career Services staff to advertise services and events, including the Career and Internship Expo. In addition to being trained to review resumes, she also brings her experience as a Writing Consultant at the Writing Center to her work as a PCA.

Mariane Escalona

Mariane Escalona is currently a Junior International Business major who plans on pursuing an MBA or Juris Doctor. She grew up in San Francisco, California. Her interests include traveling, being outdoors, community service, and spending time with family and friends. Mariane is involved with OMA's Diversity and Equity Education Program (DEEP) , the United Filipino Club, and is a proud sister of The Sisterhood of Pi Nu Iota. She also works in the Athletics Department of Seattle University as a Student Administrative Assistant.

Andrew Hoge

Andrew Hoge is currently a sophomore at Seattle University. As a Biochemistry and Business major he has plans to attend medical school and pursue a career in pediatric medicine. Andrew is involved in Fashion Club, training models for the annual fashion show and helping design the show itself. As a professional model he has graced the runway for designers in Seattle and New York. He also has a drive for leadership; over the summer of 2008 Andrew managed his own portion of the company StudentPainters.net, which involved hiring and training a crew, meeting and selling to clients, and undertaking rigorous training in sales and management. He has also held a number of positions in various groups including Class President, Drum Major of the A.C. Davis Marching Band, representative for the Washington State Legislative Youth Advisory Council, vice president of the National Honors Society, and a volunteer for the Washington State Democratic Party for over five years. He also holds an interest in the arts, performing in over five musical theater productions and singing with the SU Choral sense his freshmen year.

Jamie Johnson

Jamie Johnson is an International Business and Political Science double major from Chicago, IL. As a freshman, she has become very involved on campus and is pursuing her passion for basketball as a guard for Seattle U. Outside of school and basketball, she enjoys traveling, experiencing other cultures, writing and reading.

Dale Knudsen

Dale Knudsen is a Sophomore Philosophy, Political Affairs Major who currently lives on campus in Bellarmine Hall as a Resident Assistant. His interests range from entry level computer science to public policy and ending homelessness. Dale is active on campus as not only a Peer Career Advisor but is the vice president of BRIDGE, a social justice and advocacy group affiliated with Campus Ministry. He also works at the Campus Assistance Center in the Student Center. As far as Career Advising is concerned he is interested in the New Student Worker, as well as finding and helping Philosophy Majors seek careers related to their field.

Kaila Najar

Drop-in Hours: Wednesdays 3:30pm-4:30pm

Kaila Najar is a Sophomore History major. She grew up on Camano Island, which is about an hour north of Seattle. Kaila rows for the Seattle University crew team and when she has free time she enjoys reading or visiting friends.
