Policy for Campion Hall Piano Relocation
[Between Ecumenical Chapel and Ballroom]
This policy and related procedures (i) provide for the accessibility of the Universitys piano, which is located in the Ecumenical Chapel, for university-approved events in Campion Ballroom, and (ii) ensure the proper care of this valuable piano.
1) Approval for use of piano - The user completes the online Request Form for Piano Relocation on the Seattle University Campus Ministry website to obtain approval for use of the piano. Once the form is completed, the Chapel Coordinator in Campus Ministry [Jamelia Alnajjar] contacts the user via email or phone regarding approval and use.
2) Professional piano movers - The piano must be moved to the Ballroom and returned to the Chapel only by professional piano movers. The University will work with professional piano movers to provide this service. The user indicates on the Request Form the possible available time periods for moving. The Chapel Coordinator contacts the piano mover to arrange moving times. The user and the Chapel Coordinator confirm the exact piano moving times, and the user meets the mover at the agreed upon time. The Chapel Coordinator will notify the ballroom staff.
3) Fees for moving services - The user is solely responsible for paying the fees of the professional piano movers. The University has negotiated with Piano and Organ Movers for the following special rates:
Regular Hours (Mon-Sat 9:00 am-3:00 pm) $100.00/time
Overtime Hours: $140.00/hour
The user will provide the exact billing address and phone number to the mover upon meeting the mover to relocate the piano. The mover will bill the user directly.
4) Fee for tuning of piano - Each time a piano is moved to another climate, it loses its tuning. To help defray the costs of maintaining the piano, Campus Ministry charges the user $40.00 for a single use of the piano. The user sends a check (made out to Seattle University Campus Ministry) to:
Seattle University, Student Center 120
901 12th Avenue, P.O. Box 222000
Seattle, WA 98122
Attention: Jamelia Alnajjar5) Provide billing information in case of damage - The user provides the Liturgical Music Coordinator with an interdepartmental budget number (for on-campus groups) or a billing address (for off-campus groups) on the Request Form. This information will be kept on file. If damage occurs to the piano during use, Campus Ministry will charge the user for the full amount of necessary repairs.
