Sun Come Up is an Academy Award nominated film that depicts the journey of the world's first environmental refugees. It follows the relocation of the Carteret Islanders, a community living in the remote islands of the South Pacific, as they make the difficult decision to leave their ancestral land while climate change threatens their survival. It shows the young islander's search for land and their attempt to build relationships in war-torn Bougainville, 50 miles across the open ocean.

Sun Comes Up invites people to think about the affects of climate change on human populations, as well as provokes conversation regarding displacement and the rights of vulnerable communities around the world.
