The purpose of the France Study Tour is to immerse participants in the business culture of France and the European Union. In the process, we will see how France’s proud history and rich culture influence business practice. The tour will take place from June 17 - June 28, 2003. The cost is $1,700, which includes all ground transportation, lodging, organization visits, breakfasts, and some lunches and dinners. Most lunches and dinners are on your own. Tuition and airfare are extra. We will arrange some fares through a travel agent, but you must make your own reservations, and can of course use another travel agent if you choose. Find additional information about the study tour at TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND APPLICATION.

NOTE: We will have more applications than we have spaces available on the France Study Tour. Therefore participation in the study tour is by acceptance of the tour leaders. Study tour price ($1700) includes:
- 11 nights hotel June 17, 2003 to June 28, 2003; 7 nights in Paris, 4 nights in Nice. All students participating in the study tour must stay in the group hotels during the trip. All rooms will be double occupancy.
- All ground transportation except airport transfers. We will provide Metro passes in Paris and a charter bus in Nice.
- TGV train from Paris to Nice on Tuesday June 24, 2003.
- All breakfasts (these may be continental), (2) group lunches and (2) group dinners. The group dinners will be Friday, June 20, 2003 and Friday June 27, 2003. The two group lunches will be scheduled during the trip.
- All visits to the scheduled businesses & organizations.
Students need to make their own air arrangements. This is high season to Europe so it is recommended to contact your travel agent and shop for discounted summer airfares if and when they become available. If you plan to use frequent flyer miles consider a number of different routing options in order to maximize your chance of getting a seat.
Students are to make their own transfers between the hotels and airports. In Paris there are a number of options including taxis, the RER/Metro, and some airport/city transfer buses. In Nice the best method to the airport is by Taxi.
As noted above, all breakfasts and a couple group lunches and dinners are included. Therefore, students should budget and plan on most lunches and dinners on their own. France is an expensive country. We recommend a personal budget of $40-$50 per day for food and drink not included in the study tour program.
Tuition is not included in the study tour price.
STUDY TOUR VISITS
What We Do on the Study Tour We generally visit one or two companies or other organizations per day. Company representatives brief the group on the company, issues raised by France’s membership in the EU, and prospects for the industry or economic sector. Ample time is set aside for questions and discussion. Facility tours occur if time allows.
Here are some organizations we have visited in the past, with links to information about them: We may or may not visit these same organizations in the future.

Paris
Arguably the world’s favorite city, Paris is world class in every sense: culture, art, food, architecture, and atmosphere. You will have time to explore Paris on your own, to visit the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, the fabled Left Bank, and relax in some of Paris’ wonderful sidewalk cafes. Versaille and Chartres are only minutes away by local train.

Nice
Nice is the largest city on the beautiful French Riviera. Situated on the Mediterranean coast, Nice is only a few kilometers from the Principality of Monaco and the Italian border. The blending of cultures and the ordinarily beautiful weather make a perfect place to end our France Study Tour.
