Albers Brief, Autumn 2004
Dean's Message
“We have reaffirmed our mission statement
and our core values.”
There are some great stories in this edition of the Albers Brief. Harriet
Stephenson has been a prominent faculty member in the Albers School for
over 35 years. She has witnessed major improvements in the school and been
a significant contributor to that progress. Dino Rossi’s name is not
just recognized through the state of Washington, but now throughout the
nation as a result of one of the closest gubernatorial races in US
history. While he has not emerged as office holder, we are very proud of
the campaign he ran and the representatives of the Albers School and you
will enjoy learning more about them.
Over the last few months, we have been engaged in updating our strategic
plan. We have affirmed our mission statement – Inspired by the Jesuit
traditions of academic excellence, education for justice, and service to
others, we are committed to providing an integrated business education for
ethical and socially responsible leadership – and our core values:
Honesty and integrity, academic excellence, inclusiveness and business
community, ensuring our curriculum delivers on the mission statement,
better integrating international students into our community, and
developing centers of excellence in entrepreneurship, business ethics, and
leadership.
