Dean's Message

There are a lot of exciting things happening in the Albers School of Business & Economics.  Most importantly, I want you to know that the faculty has continued a mission of absolute excellence in teaching and research.  I’m continually impressed by the commitment of the faculty to give our students the best.

We also are very fortunate to have just finished hiring three new faculty to join us next fall in the areas of e-commerce, finance, and marketing.  In addition, we’re strengthening our undergraduate student services.  In January Jennifer Tufano accepted the position of director of Undergraduate Programs for the ASBE.  Also, last summer Christina Camera moved into the position of Undergraduate Programs Coordinator to advise undergraduates.

We are currently building a state of the art computer lab thanks to a $226,500 grant from the Murdock Foundation.  Also, we received a grant from Department of Education to start a new institute for international global e-business and innovation.  This will increase the capability of our students to compete in the Internet economy by supporting academic courses, class projects, mentorship activities and independent research in global e-commerce.

The ASBE Entrepreneurship Center continues with an outstanding program of events to serve the entrepreneurial business community.  I hope this year you will have the opportunity to attend one of these great seminars.

Finally, the ASBE has been blessed by the continuing support of our alumni and the business community in our mentorship and internship programs.  Everyone working together has made this a great business school.

Best Regards,

David W. Arnesen
Acting Dean
