<<Previous Albers Brief, Fall 2002 “We are working every day to make our alumni proud to be associated with the Albers School” One of our strategic initiatives this year is to strengthen our ties with alumni. To that end, we established the Albers Alumni Board, and this group has been working very hard to assist us in coordinating opportunities for networking and meaningful interaction with the Albers School. The Crab Feed planned for March 29th, the details of which are outlined elsewhere in this Brief, is their most important initiative to date. We are looking forward to welcoming many Albers alums back to campus for this fun and casual networking event. In addition to reconnecting with friends and associates, you will have the chance to catch up with some of your favorite Albers faculty and staff. You will also get to see the new SU Student Center, which opened in September. Albers alumni are taking increasing pride in their school. One visible sign of this is the founding of the Albers Alumni Network over the past year. AAN was created by a group of recent MBA graduates to provide a forum for more networking between Albers alums. The group meets every other month, and in March will hold a networking event with our graduating seniors. Another visible sign of alumni pride is increased contributions, for which we are very grateful. Donors who gave to the Albers School in 2002 at the President’s Club and Leadership Circle levels are recognized in this issue of the Albers Brief. Contributions to the Albers School through donations to the Dean’s Fund, MBA Fund, and Accounting Associates Fund help us to attract and retain outstanding students, faculty, and staff. For students, that happens through scholarships. These contributions also sustain our faculty and staff development efforts. We are working every day to make our alumni proud to be associated with the Albers School. Strengthening our ties with our alumni is essential for improving the quality of our programs, and you will be hearing more about this in the near future. Thank you for your involvement in enriching the Albers School of Business and Economics! Joseph M. Phillips | ||
