DEAN’S MESSAGE

The Fall Quarter had been a very exciting time in the Albers School. We are blessed with having an increase in under-graduate enrollment and the addition of six new and very talented faculty members.Jan W. Duggar, photo

In this issue of the Albers Brief you will be able to read more about our initiatives in the area of International Ethics, Risk Management, E-Commerce Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship. These initiatives are leading to sponsorship of special lectures and workshops, new majors in our undergraduate program, and new concentrations at the graduate level.

This Fall two grant applications have also been submitted. One would provide for developing expertise in international commerce on the Internet while the second proposal would provide major funding of a state-of-the-art E-Commerce Information Systems lab.

The School also continues to expand its partnership relations with the business community. This Fall our advisory councils for programs have been expanded to include a new advisory council to assist us in planning and development of our E-Commerce Information Systems curricula and program offerings. If you would like to know more about this new advisory council and if you can assist us in this exciting venue, I would appreciate very much hearing from you.

This Fall the Executive Advisory Council me and focused on the development of a marketing plan for the Albers School as well as the possibility of using the Malcolm Baldrige Educational assessment process to develop a strategic pan for enhancing the excellence of our programs and offerings.

We continue to be very thankful for the support of the business community and our alumni. We hope you will take advantage of the seminars and lectures that we are offering to you.
